FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Phillips Industries Expands Electrical Harness Division
Santa Fe Springs, CA (July 12, 2010) Since Phillips Industries’ Electrical Harness Division was relocated to Saltillo, Mexico in 2007, skyrocketing quality and delivery metrics have resulted in significant sales increases. Because of this, Phillips is announcing a major expansion to over 70,000 sq. ft of manufacturing space. The added space allows for growth of the trailer harness assembly line, improved process flow and more finished product storage. As a result of the facility and manufacturing improvements, Phillips Industries will produce and offer pre-made sealed wire harnesses for any application with short lead times at competitive costs. “Significant focus has been in quality and delivery performance areas as well as applying lean manufacturing and operating principles,” commented Filiberto Coello, General Manager of the Electrical Products Division. He continued “With more than 100 Kaizan events behind us, our customers have felt the positive impact and we need more room to keep up.”
Corrosion resistance is an important consideration when fleets choose trailer products and Phillips trailer harnesses are protected against moisture, corrosion and failure because they are built to withstand the most extreme environmental conditions. Molded material on all plugs adheres and bonds to cables and molded connections keep moisture and contaminants from penetrating the electrical system. Phillips now offers more pre-made sealed wire harness configurations to meet the needs of fleet operators.
